Details

Villa Tara is a two-bedroom private villa, situated on a hill with splendid views of Kalkan bay and mountains from all three floors.

At ground floor there a private pool (12 x 20 ft and 5 ft deep) which is cleaned every morning. The pool is surrounded by a lovely garden with both trees and many flowers. At this level, there is an outside shaded eating area and an open plan living/dining room and kitchen.

The living area has a three piece suite and the couch can be pulled out into a double bed. There is also a downstairs toilet.

The first floor has two bedrooms, which are both ensuite and share a balcony; the master bedroom has a double bed and the other has twin beds. Floor-to-ceiling windows on both ground and first floor ensure you are never without the beautiful views of the mountains, although there are curtains if you want privacy and shade.

The top floor of the villa is a roof terrace which also has splendid views of the sea and mountains. It can be used as a sleeping area by those who like to sleep under the stars!

The villa is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing holiday.

  • The private pool and garden is particularly enticing in the long, warm season.
  • There are four sunbeds and two parasols and a barbecue.
  • The pool has under water lighting for those late night dips!
  • The villa has air conditioning in both the bedrooms and living/dining areas and there is wi -fi throughout.
  • The living/dining area and kitchen is equipped with everything you would expect from this high quality accommodation: washing machine, dish washer, tv, satellite channels, dvd player and stereo etc.
  • The villa has a water tank for those increasingly rare occasions when Kalkan municipal authorities cut water off for a few hours. The spare tank is activated by a switch in the bathroom and has enough water in it to last for 2-3 days.
  • Cars can be parked directly outside the villa where there are steps leading up to the villa entrance. The road that leads to the villa is not tarmacked but is suitable for driving and generally only used by villa owners or guests.

On arrival at Villa Tara, you will find a welcome pack of refreshments waiting. Bedrooms are made up and there is a plentiful supply of towels for your stay. Our English-speaking local manager can arrange transport to and from airports and car hire for your stay. She is always on hand should you need any help or information.

Notes:

  • Sorry, but pets are not allowed
  • Guests are asked not smoke inside the villa
  • There is an excellent restaurant situated up several flights of stairs behind the villa alongside a small shop, a fruit and vegetable stall and a small children’s playground.
  • The restaurant and shop are exceptionally good value in comparison to shops and restaurants in the centre of Kalkan.

Villa Tara is stuated in the popular area of Kiziltas (near Akbel) which is a very peaceful part of Kalkan. It is a great location for those who love the sea but who also want easy access to the mountains and a more ‘authentic’ taste of Turkish life. It is a five minute drive to the beach or the mountains. It takes about 15 minutes to walk down the hill to the sea-front at Kalkan while there are several footpaths that can be accessed directly from the villa that lead you up into the mountains. Other stunning beaches near the villa are Kaputas (10 minute drive) and Patara (20 minute drive).

The owners are proud of Villa Tara's recent latest reviews (see below) which reflect the management of the villa since they took it over in time for the 2016 season. Villa Tara is much loved by its owners and they hope you will love it too; they welcome any questions or suggestions to make Villa Tara even better!

  • Great villa with a lovely pool. It had everything we needed, most important being the pool and at least a bit of shade in the garden at any time of day!
It is a steep walk down to the town and a bit further to the harbour and the sea, but you feel as though you've earned your dinner a little! We got taxis back some of the time but enjoyed the walk back too, knowing there was a pool waiting for us! There are loads of great places to eat in Kalkan but there is also a restaurant/cafe very close by which does excellent kebabs and pride (Turkish pizza). Next to that is a small shop that has all the essentials and there's also a greengrocer stall.
Lovely views from the house over Kalkan, whether you're in the garden, first floor balcony or on the roof. There is a bit of breeze because you're higher up than the town but we used the aircon overnight. We felt very relaxed and safe for our whole stay and very welcome. I'd highly recommend Turkey. We had an amazing stay!

  • Villa Tara is beautiful, it has amazing views and the pool is fantastic. Sharon and Remi are really great and stayed up until the early hours of the morning waiting for us to arrive, there was a very welcome welcome pack in the villa of bread, coffee, milk, sugar, butter and jam which was a warm and welcome sight after along journey, Sharon did a fab welcome talk the next morning and told us where to go, this was fab. We even started a Villa Tara Guest review book where guests could write down there experiences of Kalkan like the restaurants and activity's so everybody could read a variety of different reviews.

I would defo go to the first supermarket though { cant member what its called but its the first one you go to }, you must go gorge rafting and also a day out to the sunken city, the taxis there are fantastic but i am glad we got a car. We booked some tours through Mediterranean travel and there were excellent, the people are so nice and warming and friendly. The restaurant just at the top, you can see it from the front door....fantastic, amazing and really excellent value for money, we spent many a lazy afternoon there eating moussaka, calamari, fried cheese rolls and amazing salads and the best yogurt in the world, he even does takeaways

The Villa was nice had plenty of cups, plates, pans etc so fab for when you just want to have a little BBQ, we had to buy beach towels though as there was only two small outside bath towels for three people so i would suggest packing a towel or two, we luckily took our laptop so we could watch a few films in the evening as there isnt any English tele , just one news channel, so we were glad we had internet and Netflix as the evening would of got a little boring , sorry to say but the beds need to have a topper on them it was like sleeping on bricks, we have lived abroad for 6 years and understand that it is hard to get a soft mattress but toppers you can get anywhere, we ended up sleeping on the sofa bed downstairs after trying the master bedroom and the spare room as the hardness of the beds started my sciatic off.

But all in all it was just the right size for three people and yes i would book Villa Tara again..

  • We had a wonderful time at Kalkan the resort was superb. The villa was very clean with everything we required. There was a rep who met us on the first day and answered all our queries. We went at the end of June and it was extremely hot so the pool was well appreciated .I would definitely recommend this villa.

  • It's always a little daunting booking a villa from photos but having spoken to to the owner, I was instantly reassured.
Upon arrival at Villa Tara we were instantly struck by the great light and the lovely open plan layout and the great pool and the jaw dropping view didn't hurt!
The house felt " lived in" and loved and by the time we left it had been loved even more as we would spend more time in the pool and in the house than by the sea!
It is a pleasure to stay in and it's big enough to be private in, but small enough to feel cosy.
We looked at others before we chose this one, but dealing with Jeremy , the owner, was so nice that it made all the difference.
    I wouldn't hesitate to return.
