Villa Rosemary brings you the ultimate in luxury and style, in one of the most beautiful places in the world. A holiday that will stay in your heart forever. In the foothills of the Toros Mountains, overlooking the breathtaking plains of Patara, and surrounded on all sides by the enchanting landscapes of Turkey's famous Lycian coastline, you will find your own secluded corner of paradise. At 3000 square feet, this property is not only very generously proportioned, but the way the cool and contemporary design connects with the views is nothing short of spectacular.

Villa Rosemary has been constructed to an exceptionally high standard and furnished with immense style and flair, both inside the property and on the extensive terraces, to make the most of relaxing, dining alfresco, entertaining new found friends or just enjoying a gin and tonic as the sun dips behind the mountains. The level of amenities at a property of this quality ensures that guests can relax and rejuvenate, but wireless internet will enable you to keep in touch, and the on-site staff will be close at hand should you need them... available but unobtrusive.

It is not just the accommodation that makes Villa Rosemary so special. Situated in the foothills of the Toros Mountains - close to local restaurants, and just 20 minutes by car from Kalkan – the villa offers a compelling combination of peace and utterly breathtaking views, along with the convenience of being close to Kalkan, justifiably famous for its fine dining and beautiful old town.

Accommodation is arranged over 3 floors, with a large open plan living space on the middle floor to make the most of the incredible views that the property’s location allows. Large floor-to-ceiling windows offer dramatic, awe-inspiring views of the landscape, sea and Patara beach. Sunlight floods into the living area, and the early morning sun, and sunset in particular, create a wonderful ambience in which to relax.

The living area comprises 2 areas of lounge seating with coffee tables, kitchen, dining area, cloakroom, and stairs to the floors above and below. The large open plan living space opens onto large balconies through sliding doors at each end, where guests can enjoy the views and outside dining. A large screen LCD television with satellite channels and DVD player are provided, as well as wireless internet. Various pieces of wall art and paintings give the living area a warm, stylish and contemporary feel.

The kitchen is fully fitted, with granite worktops, and is exceptionally well equipped. The appliances are German top of the range and include a dishwasher and large fridge freezer. The gas hob and electric fan oven will also appeal to those serious about cooking. The dining area, like everywhere in the living space, has lovely views and comfortably seats 8 people.
On the ground floor, sliding doors from the 2 double ensuite bedrooms open onto the large pool deck, with swimming pool and sun terraces with sun beds and large swing seat, and a barbecue and outside dining and lounge furniture. There is also a large sliding door from a central hallway onto the pool deck. A downstairs shower and cloakroom completes the lower floor space.

The villa is accessed via the front door on the top floor, which opens into a large central hall. The huge window over 2 floors reveals the spectacular views, giving a dramatic and quite stunning first impression. The master and twin bedroom suites are situated either side of the hall.

The bedrooms on the top floor of the villa offer extremely spacious and beautifully appointed ensuite accommodation. Both have large furnished balconies with lovely views over the countryside below and mountains and sea beyond. The master bedroom also has a fitted dressing area and a safe. The 2 ground floor double ensuite bedrooms have direct access to the swimming pool and pool deck. All double beds are super king size.

At dusk, imaginative and clever lighting transforms the feel of Villa Rosemary, and sets the mood for an unforgettable evening ahead.

Villa Rosemary lies in the heart of Turkey's finest region of outstanding natural beauty midway between the quiet, charming villages and local shops of Islamlar and Üzümlü and surrounded on all sides by the landscapes of Turkey’s enchanting Lycian coastline. Set amongst fields and forests of cedar and pine, olive groves and walnut trees, the air is filled with the fragrances of jasmine, jacaranda, lemon and thyme. Small waterfalls, springs and mountain streams provide constant fresh water for the nearby village of Islamlar, giving natural irrigation and feeding the trout pools that supply the friendly local restaurants. • What a fantastic villa and what a fantastic location. We have just returned from two weeks in this great location, in total our party was 7. As it has been mentioned before the villa is approximately 90 minute drive from Dalaman airport, however the transfer was fantastic.
Once at the villa we were welcomed by Ahmet who showed us round, and then left us to our own devices. All the rooms are en-suite which is fantastic and is well spread out over three floors. The living space is well used and allows a group the size of ours your own space if needed. The views are stunning looking out towards the sea in the distance and mountains beyond that. The pool and sun lounge area has been extended since the photos on the site, so we have added come new ones. Again this space is superb, allowing for plenty of room for all.
We did not hire a car for the time we were there, so all trips were by taxi, which was not a bad thing. We managed to use a regular taxi, and with modern tech WhatsApp was the best way to communicate to all. As it mentions it is a twenty minute car journey from the villa to Kalkan.
Most of the food shops are at the top end of the town, we first went to Carrefour to buy the shopping, however found out quickly that this is a waste of time. Unlike the UK, the independent shops are the place to go. There are some superb greengrocers, bakeries and butchers all were better value than the supermarkets. The only supermarket we did use was the Akan one. The main reason is the butcher inside was superb. The variety of meat and value was incredible. Having looked on line for something similar in the UK we would have had to pay near 3 to 4 times the amount.
If you enjoy a good barter then the market on the Thursday is good fun, and pretty much has everything for you to dress yourself from head to foot in labels. However if you are a foody, then out the back are some stalls selling local produce including olive oil, olives, cheese etc. all very local.
If you do fancy a walk out of the villa, a sturdy pair of trainers is needed, for a shorter walk go to the main road and head up the hill, it is about a 30 minute walk to the small local store, there is also a great little restaurant called “The Café Restaurant”, service is superb and great value for money. You would be looking at double if not more for the same menu down in Kalkan.
For the guys if you fancy a Turkish barber experience I can recommend Sweeney Todd’s on the main street. So much so that I went twice. For a double shave, haircut, massage was all but £10. From there you can head down through the winding streets of Kalkan old town and out to the harbour and sit relax and have a local Efes or a cocktail.
Overall a great place to go and chill out, do nothing, eat great food and enjoy the scenery.

  • My family and I stayed in Villa Rosemary in June of 2017. We flew in to Dalaman airport and rented a car for the easy 1.5 hour drive from the airport. My phone’s satnav easily guided us up the mountain roads to the villa’s quiet location.

Villa Rosemary is clean, spacious and well equipped. The kitchen has everything you could need, the internet is good and the television had Apple TV. I’m always a little suspicious of website and promotional photos that look too good, but Villa Rosemary really is as good as it looks in the photos! The modern design of the villa takes full advantage of the beautiful view with balconies and seating on every level.

It is a short drive down the mountain to the town of Kalkan where there is a good selection of restaurants and bars, all pretty peaceful and family friendly.

I’d highly recommend Villa Rosemary and would happily return.

  • This Villa really is a dream.

We met Ahmet at a petrol station in Kalkan and followed him up the mountains to the villa. The road up is a bit hairy but the views are breathtaking. When we arrived at the villa, Ahmet walked us around to show us where everything was. He has a little office just opposite the villa and is always just a text/phone call away.

The Villa itself is really beautiful - it has everything you need and more. We were given a lovely welcome hamper which included beer, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheeses, jam, ham, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and juice - made things easier as our flight came in to Dalaman at 10pm (2 hour drive).

Kitchen is very well equipped - great cooker, dishwasher and big fridge and freezer. Enough plates/bowls/cutlery/pots/pans to be able to cook proper meals in. The living space is very comfortable and the TV had plenty of English speaking channels - a nice range of DVD's available too. There are 4 bedrooms - 2 on the top floor and 2 on the pool level. Each bedroom has an ensuite and a balcony. The outdoors area is really lovely, so peaceful and plenty of seating/shade. The swimming pool was very welcome on the hot days!

All in all a fantastic villa, beautifully designed and decorated and brilliantly maintained. We would definitely recommend staying here.

  • Our whole holiday was fantastic! Only good stuff to report. From the stress free transfer to the checking out. Rosemary villa is situated right up in the mountains but close to some local restaurants offering a good range of freshly cooked food and for good value. We did hire a car to get around to go to the town of Kalkan and spend some time at the beaches. But the caretaker of the Villa complex Armet was always on call should we of needed anything. The beaches were beautiful and the boat trips on offer at Kalkan are highly suitable and recommended for couples or families . Villa Rosemary looked brand new, and was fully equipped with everything inside. The private pool was very clean and well maintained. As long as you've got all the food your require you don't really have to leave the villa if you didn't want to. The Wifi connection was brilliant and there were enough movie channels in spoken English. En-suit bathrooms for every bedroom. Very modern kitchen with all brand new looking appliances. We will definitely be looking to go back to Villa Rosemary and will definitely take the children with us next time as too big for just two persons. Basically loved it ;)
